2022 in review
After a wonderful New Year's Eve weekend, I ended up with the covid. Frustrating because I had had covid once before and two vaccinations. How does this crap even happen! However, at the end of my illness, and I wasn't as sick as I was the first time, thank goodness, my good friend Bobbie Casalino-Lewis came to town from Los Angeles! We had a ball! What a great way to start the year!
Then there was a great shift and sadness descended. A good friend of mine's son was killed in a motorcycle wreck. Three days after that celebration of life service, my best friend's husband decided to end his life. A day or two later I found out a gal I had graduated high school with had died unexpectedly. I wasn't really sure what the rest of the year was going to have after that. January was a handful. Processing grief and loss is definitely not a linear process, but more like a rollercoaster with some loop de loops throughout the journey.
February’s beginning was a whole lot better! I flew to LA and stayed with Bobbie Casalino-Lewis! During the day, I got to work with the fabulous Keri Murphy, Inspired Living, and created a new video for my website. If you're curious to see it go to www.TakagiConsulting.com. Those few days were a real highlight. I made a shift in my business back in August of 2021 and this was me coming out publicly about the shift. It was a very transformative, enlightening and exciting experience.
March brought me to San Diego. It was a retreat centered around nourishing all the different aspects of your life. The resort was gorgeous. The weather was perfect. The information was valuable.
April took me to Memphis! My friend Terri Sears was turning 60 and wanted a destination birthday party. My husband couldn't go but my friend Sarah could! Girls trip! I had never been to Memphis and neither had Sarah. We had a wonderful time celebrating Terri. That is where I got the idea that I might want to go somewhere every single month for the rest of the year to celebrate my upcoming 60th birthday! Although I hadn’t gone anywhere in January, I did have a fabulous house guest, so that definitely counts as an adventure!
The end of April into May took me to Boulder, Colorado to the Relaunch Retreat! My bestie Hilary DeCesear was hosting this event and I actually got to do some work on other participants while I was there using my new skills and abilities. It was fabulous!
June ended up being a fabulous month at the lake. I didn't technically go out of town as in out of state or a special destination, but coming to Lake Eufaula in Eastern Oklahoma with all of my besties is an adventure in and of itself every single weekend!
July was a cruise! I went with my bestie Kristy and we kind of crashed my nephew and his family's summer vacation. My sister, Vicki, and brother-in-law, Ronnie, also went. We had a blast! The massages on the pier at Costa Maya, Mexico was probably the highlight!
Now we move into August. My friend, Cara, since I was 11, and I try to get together for a couple of days each summer. We have really come to love the Choctaw Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. I realize it's still in Oklahoma up but it's a 3 hour drive so I consider that definitely going out of town. Their Spa is fabulous and the massages are amazing! It was so wonderful to hang out, eat, drink, be merry and lay by the pool with my bestie! I love having frozen cocktails delivered to me poolside!
September was a doozy! After much conversation, my husband, Bill, decided he would in fact go with me to Italy for a wedding. I was so humbled and grateful to have received an invitation. I don't even know how to express it in words! We flew into Venice and stayed two nights. And then we took the train to Florence. A taxi ride out to a gorgeous vineyard and the villa was spectacular. The wedding was held at the Villa and a lot of the events were held down the hill at the neighboring restaurant. They might all be connected but I didn't get that all figured out. Then, it was off to Rome for a couple of nights including a trip to Pompeii. It was magical! Definitely a once in a lifetime trip with Bill, aka Bernie. The pic with this blog says it all!
Although I don't need a fall break, I was happy to go with my sister, Melissa, and her husband, Bill on her fall break vacation! Another Cruise it was. Bill and I had a great time. The weather was perfect. The drinks were cold. The snorkeling in Nassau was AMAZING!
November was another business trip. This time it was to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! Yes, work was accomplished in Puerto Vallarta. Actually a lot of work, although there was also a lot of fun! In person connections solidified quite a few friendships and business relationships! Thank you Michelle Abraham with AmplifYou for putting this together at Casa Influencia!
My 60th birthday was December 3rd. On December 2nd I drove to Galveston Texas with two of my besties to meet up with four more besties for an eight-day cruise! Sun, fun & cocktails were had by all! I can't begin to express how loved and cherished I felt by having 6 of my friends take off work in December to come celebrate and play with me. It was amazing! And yes, there were shenanigans.
Last year when my husband and I spent my birthday at my favorite Resort in Jamaica, we booked a trip for 2022 for my actual 60th birthday celebration. The resort said if we waited until the 15th that the price would really go down. Well, I can celebrate my birthday anytime and the 15th of December was as good as any day! So, I literally got off the cruise ship, got home at 6 p.m. Sunday night, and was on a plane at 8 a.m. on Thursday morning to Jamaica! I know! It sucks to be me! Sandals, South Coast, White House, Jamaica.
The only downside to being on vacation for 15 days in December, is it's very exhausting. I was awake for 22 hours getting home from Jamaica. Major cold front, millions of people traveling for the holidays, and a little bit of lost luggage. Oh no, I don't have anything to complain about, I'm just sharing that for the story. My luggage was never lost. It was just delayed, left hanging out at DFW for four days before taking a quick trip to Miami before arriving safe and sound at the OKC Will Rogers World Airport. Thank you to my sister, Melissa, for picking it up and delivering it to my house!
As I look back on the year, I am filled with sadness and grief for those who I've lost. I also look back on it with an immense amount of gratitude. So many people have been there for me, to support me, to assist me, and to guide me to bring me to where I am today. The shift I made in my business has had an immense impact on me. Some people look at me and think I'm totally crazy when I say I do energy healing work. Or that I'm an intuitive leadership coach. Or that I'm a level two Holy Fire Reiki practitioner. Or that by using the Emotion Code® work, I can guide clients to release trapped emotions that have been holding them back. When I say I can help someone heal using the Body Code® to create alignment within the body so it can begin to heal itself, people look at me like I've lost my mind. I haven't lost my mind. I've helped literally hundreds of people. I really like to call myself a catalyst for healing because I'm not actually healing them. I'm helping create alignment and balance with the gifts, the talents and the skills that I've learned so their bodies can heal themselves. You can be as skeptical as you want, but when you're the one who has the transformation, you quickly become a believer!
Although there have been a lot of vacations throughout the year, I also have accomplished a lot of work. I conducted multiple healing sessions using both the Emotion Code® and the Body Code® on friends and family in order to gain my certification as a practitioner in both methods. After that, Katie bar the door! It has been amazing! The transformation in people's lives has been mind-boggling. One client had her hip replaced and was unable to lift her leg after it. It had been two years since she was literally able to lift her right leg off the floor at all. We did multiple sessions using the Emotion Code® to release trapped emotions around her hip and what led to the hip surgery and the things she could no longer do following the hip replacement surgery and things were better. She still couldn't lift her leg but overall emotionally, she was better. And then the Body Code® came into play. We were able to identify through her subconscious one muscle in her hip, the piriformis muscle, was misaligned. We aligned it. The two of us. We set our intention that it would be aligned and balanced. The next day she reached out to tell me she could lift her foot an inch off the ground! You may not think an inch is much because you can lift your foot and it's off the ground. But she hadn't been able to lift her foot at all in 2 years! After a couple more sessions she was able to lift it 6 inches. After a couple more sessions, she was able to step into her house with her right leg leading instead of her left leg and dragging her right leg up the step. It was life-altering for her! As excited and thrilled as she is for this progress, I'm at least as thrilled!
Another client of mine at the end of a session casually mentioned that she stepped off a curb, rolled her ankle and it really hurt. I asked if she wanted me to use the Body Code® and see if it would help her ankle heal faster. And she said, “Oh yeah!” We did a quick alignment using the Body Code® chart, and we went on our way. I saw her a few days later and she was actually talking to some friends about working with me and they were saying yeah I don't think I believe in that and she said, “Oh wait I twisted my ankle. Jennifer worked on it and the next morning I woke up and it was still tender and sore. I thought man, that didn't work. And 2 days later it dawned on me that I hadn't thought about my ankle or had any pain in the last two days!”

Jennifer was amazing! First off I totally connected with her immediately. Her warm and inviting personality make it so easy to just relax and be open. Our first session I didn’t really have many questions but she knew exactly what I needed to hear. It was amazing. The second meeting we had I had a bit more direction and again she knew exactly what I needed to hear and it resonated so well. Jennifer is the real deal you won’t be disappointed!
